Violinist Amanda Lostritto first began her music studies in violin at the age of 4 with Nancy Hill, and at age 10 she began studying piano with Joan Tumilty. Violinist Amanda Lostritto first began her music studies in violin at the age of 4 with Nancy Hill, and at age 10 she began studying piano with Joan Tumilty. Amanda received her Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance with a concentration in Violin from California State University, Sacramento where she studied violin under Anna Presler and piano under Richard Cionco. In addition to studying two instruments, Amanda was a member of Camerata Capistrano under the direction of Dr. Lorna Peters, several Chamber ensembles, Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Leo Eylar, Chamber Choir under the direction of Don Kendrick, and Mu Phi Epsilon.
Growing up, Amanda was an active student and community member, Amanda participated and won Overall Grand Prize in the Auburn Symphony Young Artists Competition, making her solo debut with the Auburn Symphony, as well as first place in her division of the Music in the Mountains Young Musicians Competition. Amanda was also a member of the Sacramento Youth Symphony in all three of its standard Orchestras.
As the owner and teacher at Stonehill School of Music, Amanda is passionate about bringing a well-rounded music education to students of all ages and levels.
She also performs with numerous orchestras throughout California, and has had the opportunity to work with prestigious musicians such as Joshua Bell under the direction of Michael Stern in July 2018 for the world premier of The Red Violin with live orchestra at the Lincoln Theater in Yountville, CA, and award-winning conductor Joel Revzen for the Opening Gala of Festival Napa Valley in July of 2018. She was accepted into the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2020 for a Master’s in Performance and Pedagogy, but was unable to attend due to COVID.
In addition to teaching and gigging, Amanda takes every opportunity she can to play, whether it’s jamming in pubs in Northern Ireland, recording R&B for local artists, or volunteering with the local community orchestra.

Our Classes are carefully structured to cover a wide range of topics in a fun way which challenges and builds confidence in each student. In each lesson, we focus on Music Theory, Ear Training, Stage Presence, Technique and Artistry, Musicality, Sight-Reading, and Chamber Music.
Lessons take place weekly in 30, 45, or 60 minute sessions.
